Art is alchemy.

The stage is an ephemeral space—one I've been lucky to call home again and again as a lifelong theater kid. It's no small task to capture the magic of live performance in still photographs, but decades of experience in your character heels, ballet slippers, and tap shoes give me a leg up. (A kickline joke!?)

Emotion is at the core of my craft; It comes before anything technical I do with the camera. Will I be cackling at jokes and wiping away tears from behind my viewfinder? 100 percent. This work is all about energy exchange, and I shoot shows as a stand-in for your dream audience member. And I think that's what sets my work apart. (Also, I love to overshoot in high-speed continuous mode because we humans make a truly impressive variety of faces when we sing.)

Let's do some storytelling together.

Testimonials

"For several years, Richelle has consistently proven herself to be an exceptional photographer with a true eye for live performance. She is able to capture the spirit of each play and produce stellar photos that showcase the actors and all design elements, even in diverse lighting conditions and challenging settings. She does this while being completely invisible in the space, not disturbing our shows—and is also a true joy to be around. Her presence is glowing and cheerful—and her artistry is profound."
